Federal Trade Commission rules require websites to disclose material connections and paid relationships. We would rather over-disclose than under-disclose, so here is all of it.

Who publishes this site

The Very Best of Texas is owned and published by Hello Web Designs, a web design studio in Paris, Texas.

1. Web design clients

Hello Web Designs builds and hosts websites for businesses across Texas. Some of those clients operate in categories we write about, such as restaurants, event venues, roofing, and HVAC.

When a client appears in one of our guides, the listing carries a Partner banner stating that we built their website, and the article carries a disclosure box. A client is included only when it belongs on the list on its own merits. See how we rank.

2. Sponsored listings

Businesses can pay for a labeled placement inside a relevant guide. These are marked Sponsored, and their outbound links use rel="sponsored". Paying does not change the ranking of any other business on that list, and it does not remove competitors. If you want to know what this costs, get in touch.

Some links to hotels, tours, tickets, reservations, and products are affiliate links. If you book or buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links never determine whether a business makes a list or where it ranks. They are marked with rel="sponsored nofollow" in the page source.

4. Advertising

We may display advertising from third-party ad networks, including Google AdSense. Those ads are served by the network, not chosen by us, and they are labeled. Advertisers have no input into our editorial content and no advance notice of what we publish.

5. Free listings and submissions

Submitting your business through our get listed form is free and always will be. A submission is not a purchase and does not obligate us to include you.

6. What nobody can buy

  • A ranking position
  • Removal of a competitor from a list
  • A fabricated award, quote, or statistic
  • Editorial approval of a draft before publication
