How did we pick these?
We started with every company that returns for a Krum search and then threw out most of them. The cut that mattered was the address test. A page titled "HVAC in Krum, TX" with no street number on it is a service-area landing page, and the truck behind it may be an hour away in Dallas or Fort Worth. Mondragon Mechanical, for example, is a real company doing real work, but it operates from Virgo Lane in Dallas, so it is not on this list.
What survived was nine companies we could place on a map. Four have addresses inside Krum. The rest sit in Denton, Sanger, and Aubrey, and each one is labeled with where it actually works from, because the drive time is the whole point in a town of roughly five and a half thousand people. We checked state licence numbers where companies publish them, Better Business Bureau files and accreditation dates, Denton Chamber of Commerce membership, manufacturer dealer listings, and the Denton Record-Chronicle's business reporting.
Where sources disagreed, we left the fact out rather than picking one. That is why Strittmatter has no street address here, why Air Done Right and Force Home Services have no phone numbers, and why you will not find a founding year for Air Done Right. Three directories, three different answers.
One disclosure. R2 Mechanical at number six is a Hello Web Designs client. It earned the spot on a record we can check independently, a current state licence, Better Business Bureau accreditation dating to July 2023, and Denton Chamber membership, and it sits behind five companies with longer or deeper records. We also list it under its operating name rather than the older one, and we publish no review counts for it or for anyone else here, because the aggregators disagree wildly.
What should you know before you go?
Krum grew fast. The Handbook of Texas records a population under two thousand in 2000 and around five and a half thousand by 2020, and that growth curve is sitting in your attic right now. A large share of the housing stock went up between 2005 and 2020, which means a lot of systems in this town are hitting the fifteen to twenty year mark at the same time. Expect replacement conversations, and expect summer to be busy.

Two practical notes. First, service agreements are worth more here than in a big city, because the queue is short and being on the priority list genuinely moves you up it. Second, if your house is west of town on acreage, say so when you book. Well pumps, propane, and long duct runs change what the technician needs on the truck.
What about the rest of Denton County?
If you are in Ponder, Sanger, or Justin, this list holds up, since every company on it covers those towns. If you are actually in Denton itself, the field widens considerably and the ranking would change. Krum sits at a useful intersection, close enough to Denton to draw the large operations and small enough to still have four independent shops of its own.

What should you do next?
