Longview sits in the middle of a hail corridor, which means two things. There are more roofing companies here than a city this size would otherwise support, and a large share of what ranks for "roofers in Longview" is not based in Longview at all. This list separates those two problems.
How did we pick these?
Mostly by subtraction. Every candidate had to clear three checks: a street address we could confirm in a directory nobody buys their way into, a phone number that matched between the company's own website and an independent listing, and at least one credential that exists somewhere we could go and read it.
The Better Business Bureau's Longview roofing directory did most of the work, because a BBB file carries a business start date, an owner's name and a complaint history at a fixed address. Manufacturer directories did the rest. GAF and Owens Corning both publish their own certified contractor lists, and a Master Elite or Platinum Preferred listing is a fact held by the manufacturer rather than a badge somebody pasted into a footer.
What we cut was the larger half. Longview roofing searches are unusually polluted by two things. The first is lead-generation directories that present themselves as local companies. The second is a wall of syndicated press releases, published through newswire services and republished on dozens of unrelated news sites, all announcing that a Longview roofer "sets the standard." Several of the companies named in those releases do exist. None of the releases told us anything verifiable, so none of them counted as a source, and we dropped any candidate whose entire presence was that kind of coverage.
No partners, clients or sponsored entries appear on this list. Nothing was pre-filled and nothing was cut or promoted because of a relationship. Our own roofing client, H&H Roofing, is in Sulphur Springs and correctly did not match Longview, so it is not here. If you are up that way, it is on our Sulphur Springs roofers list instead.
Which of these are actually Longview companies?
Three of the eight are based somewhere else. We have left them on the list, because a crew 30 minutes away is a real option, and we have said so on every card rather than letting the addresses imply otherwise.
| Company | Based in | Longview address | Best for |
| Gordy Roofing | Longview | 712 Glencrest Ln | All-round residential, Saturday cover |
| Roof Care | Longview | 1714 Pine Tree Rd | Metal, flashing, sheet metal work |
| Advanced Roofing Services | Longview | 7724 US Hwy 259 | Commercial, industrial, coatings |
| Advantage Roofing | Tyler | 1809 W Loop 281 branch | Storm response, 24 hour phone |
| PeeWee Roofing | Longview | 14746 TX-322 | Low-slope commercial, coatings |
| Clean Cut Roofing | White Oak | Serves Longview | Texts answered after hours |
| Stonewater Roofing | Tyler | 304 E Loop 281 branch | Built-up, foam, EPDM, TPO |
| Randy Langford Roofing | Gilmer | Serves Longview | Father and son crew, six days |
The Randy Langford case is the instructive one. Directories publish a 505 East Cotton Street address in Longview. The company's own site gives a Gilmer address. We went with the company's own site and said where it is, which is the whole point of checking.
What should you know before you call?
Texas does not license roofing contractors at the state level. There is no number to look up, which is why hail season brings crews with out-of-state plates and a clipboard. The substitutes are insurance and certification. Ask for the certificate of liability insurance and the workers compensation certificate, then ring the insurer on the certificate rather than the broker's number on a business card.
On timing, the useful split is phone cover, not posted hours. Gordy works Saturday mornings. Randy Langford works six days. Clean Cut answers texts outside office hours. Advanced Roofing Services shuts at three on Friday and does not open at the weekend, which is fine for a planned reroof and no use at all at nine on a Saturday night.
On money, get the decking rate in writing before the tear-off starts. Nobody knows what is under the shingles until they are off, and a per-sheet price agreed in advance is the single most common place a quote turns into a different number.
What should you do next?
Get three quotes and insist that each one names the system, not just the job. For a house, start with Gordy Roofing and Roof Care, both with real Longview shops and both with verifiable credentials, and add Advantage if you want 24 hour phone cover after a storm. For a commercial or flat roof, call Advanced Roofing Services and PeeWee Roofing, and ask both whether a coating would do before you accept a replacement bid.
Then compare the workmanship warranties side by side, not the material warranties. Every manufacturer offers a long material warranty and they are broadly similar. The labour warranty is the contractor's own promise, and it is the one you will actually need.
