How did we pick these?
We started with every business that appears under cabinets, cabinet makers or cabinet shops for Paris in the aggregator directories, then threw out everything we could not stand behind. That removed most of the list. Directory pages for this town are padded with wholesale sites that ship nationwide, national estimator pages with a Paris keyword on them, and shops in other towns entirely.
What survived had to clear three checks. The business had to have a findable presence of its own, a website, a working social page or a trade profile. It had to have at least one independent record we could look at, meaning a Better Business Bureau file, a Houzz or Manta profile, a chamber listing, or press coverage. And it had to actually build or supply cabinets rather than list them as one keyword among forty.
Grand Design at number seven is a client of Hello Web Designs, which publishes this site. It is ranked last, and its card says plainly that it does not build cabinets. It is here because it is the only cabinet showroom in Paris you can walk into, which is a genuinely useful thing for a reader to know, not because of the relationship.
We also cut a client. The Countertop Shop on West Kaufman is listed by the Lamar County Chamber under a combined category called Cabinets, Closets and Counter Tops, and it turns up in cabinet searches because of it. Its own site sells countertops, its own showroom is slabs, and a countertop fabricator does not belong on a list of cabinet makers. It is genuinely the best answer in town for its actual trade, which is why it leads our guide to countertop shops near Paris.
A few real businesses were left off. Anderson Custom Cabinets, run by Jeff Anderson, appears on Angi serving Paris but publishes no street address or phone we could confirm anywhere else. Noriega's shows up in Paris cabinet searches and is a real company, but it operates out of Mount Pleasant, Pittsburg and Texarkana. K&J Custom Designs is in Sulphur Springs, and R.C. Custom Construction, which does list custom cabinets among its services, is a general contractor based well south of here. Any of them may be worth a call. None is a Paris cabinet shop.
What should you know before you go?
Nobody in this market publishes prices, so budget by getting comparable quotes rather than by guessing. The single most useful thing you can do is force every quote onto the same footing, which means specifying box material, door material, drawer slide type and hardware before you ask for a number. A quote that is thirty percent cheaper is often a quote for particle board boxes.
| Shop | Base | Builds cabinets | Best for |
| Elite Cabinets & Closets | Paris | Yes, custom and stock | The widest range, closets through kitchens |
| Sly Woodworks | Reno or Blossom | Yes | Design, build and finish under one roof |
| Chiseled Millworks | Paris, FM 195 | Yes | A published box spec you can hold them to |
| J&J Custom Cabinets | US 82 east of Paris | Yes | Modern finishes, veneer, laminate, high gloss |
| Cutting Edge Woodworks | Paris, 75462 | Yes | Doors and fronts only, or one builder start to finish |
| Yaross Woodworks | Detroit | Yes | Cabinets plus matching furniture |
| Grand Design | Paris, Grand Ave | No, sells and installs | Seeing samples in person, whole room jobs |
Two practical notes. Custom shops in a town this size are usually booked out, and the lead time is the thing that will surprise you rather than the price, so ask when they could start before you ask what it costs. And most of these are workshops, not stores. Only Grand Design keeps a showroom you can browse without an appointment, and its hours are short and weekdays only.
What about the shops outside Paris?
Three of the seven are not in the city limits, and we have labeled each one. Sly Woodworks sits in the Reno and Blossom area a few minutes out, J&J works the US 82 corridor east of town, and Yaross Woodworks is in Detroit, about fifteen miles east. That is not a compromise. Cabinet work is measured, built and delivered, so the shop drives to you and the address matters far less than it would for a restaurant.
What should you do next?
Call Elite Cabinets and Closets first and get a date in the diary, because it is the most likely to have capacity across the range of work. Then get a second quote from Chiseled Millworks or Sly Woodworks so you have a real comparison rather than a single number. If you are only tired of looking at your doors, call Cutting Edge Woodworks before anyone else and ask about fronts alone.
If the cabinets are one piece of a bigger project, our guides to interior designers in Paris and the rest of the Paris, Texas city guide are the next stops, and you can see every town we have covered for this trade on the cabinets hub.
