How did we pick these?
We started from every photographer who surfaces in a Paris, Texas search, which is about a dozen names, and then applied one filter that most directories never apply: does this business actually photograph wedding days?
That question removed more than half the field. What survived had to clear two more checks. Each photographer needed a live presence they control themselves, a website or an active vendor listing with real work on it, and at least one independent confirmation, which in this market means a venue's published preferred-vendor list, a magazine interview, or a business record that is not the photographer's own marketing.
There are no partners, sponsors or paid placements on this list. Hello Web Designs has no photography clients anywhere in Texas, so nothing was added or removed by hand.
Who did we cut, and why?
The cuts are the useful part of this article, because the aggregators will show you all of them.
Claudia Farr Photography is a real and well-liked Paris photographer whose own FAQ says weddings are not in her plans. An award site still crowns her the best wedding photographer in town. Triniti Frazier Photography opened a boutique portrait studio on Lamar Avenue in 2014 and still ranks in Paris photographer searches, but the business now trades as Triniti Frazier Design Co. and its Lamar County Chamber listing files it under party and equipment rentals for luxury picnics and micro-events. Studio II Photography on North Collegiate Drive is a camera and framing shop that does passport photos and family portraits, not weddings. Penn Cindy Photography on Clarksville Street has an unclaimed listing, no website and no wedding work we could find.
Larry's Photos and Dixon Photography both appear in Paris directories carrying a near identical canned line about professional wedding and location photography. Neither has a working website, Dixon's address splits between 35 and 39 Lamar Avenue and a business database files it as Dixson, and we could not confirm that either currently books weddings. Luminous Productions turns up in Paris photographer results and is at 2913 Charity Road in Commerce.
From Cottonwood Barn's own vendor list we kept two photographers and dropped three: Sol & Rose Photography is in Grapevine, and MK Photography and Portraits by Denim could not be resolved to a single verifiable business. White Rose Ranch recommends a Sydney Jones Photography, but the name resolves inconsistently across a company website and a separate portfolio under a different surname, so we left it off rather than send you to the wrong person.
What should you know before you book?
Book the venue first and the photographer second, but only just. Paris has a small pool and the strong names take one wedding a day.
| Photographer | Based in | Own site with wedding galleries | Best for |
| Tara Swain Photography | Just outside Paris | Yes, full Paris weddings | Seeing a whole day before you commit |
| Kristin LaRue Photography | Paris | Yes | Published starting price and clear add-ons |
| Asher Creek Photography | Honey Grove | Yes | Sheer volume of weddings shot |
| Laura Snider Photography | Paris | Yes | Two shooters as standard |
| Lifestyles Photography | Paris | Vendor listing only | Meeting in person at a real address |
| Captured by Cayson | Cooper | Yes | Regional coverage on two venue lists |
| Swaff Shots | Paris | Yes | Engagements and shorter event coverage |
Two practical notes. Northeast Texas weather makes an indoor backup plan part of the photography conversation, not a separate one, so ask what each photographer does when an outdoor ceremony moves inside forty minutes before the aisle. And ask about delivery, specifically how many images you get and how long the edit takes, because that is where quotes that look identical stop being identical.
If you are still choosing where to hold the day, our guide to the best wedding venues in Paris, Texas covers Cottonwood Barn, White Rose Ranch and the rest, and several of the photographers above already have galleries from those rooms.
What should you do next?
Email Tara Swain and Kristin LaRue on the same day with your date and venue, and ask each of them for one full wedding gallery rather than a portfolio. That single request tells you more in five minutes than a week of reading reviews, and it is the fastest way to find out who is even free.
If both are booked, Asher Creek in Honey Grove is the next call and Cottonwood Barn can tell you which of its listed photographers has worked there most recently. For video, which is a separate booking and a separate skill, see our Dallas wedding videographers guide. More Paris coverage sits on the Paris city hub, and the wedding photographers category collects the same research for other Texas towns as we publish it.
