The Best Wedding Venues in Sulphur Springs

The Black Oak sits on a hill inside a 200-acre wooded tract, and it is the one venue here built for weddings from the ground up rather than adapted into one. The reception hall runs about 3,400 square feet under cathedral ceilings with spruce trusses, wood floors and a 53-foot glass wall of french doors that opens onto a covered porch, and it seats around 200. A climate controlled chapel was added for indoor ceremonies, and the Overlook, a railed deck built out over the canyon, handles the outdoor ones.

It also carries the deepest outside record in the market. It is one of the few venues in this part of Texas listed by Here Comes The Guide, which vets the venues it carries, and it shows up on Yelp, Eventective and Tagvenue with a consistent address and phone.

A family-run venue on 228 acres about twenty minutes west of Sulphur Springs, with a 3,800 square foot reception hall, a separate 1,800 square foot open-air pavilion and a private five-acre lake to put behind the ceremony. Seated capacity runs to about 200.

The reason it ranks this high is transparency. Its own packages page lists tiers rather than making you request a quote, with a Gold package at $1,800, a Platinum package at $2,500 on a Friday and $3,800 on a Saturday, and an all-in Diamond package at $5,000. It is a Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce member, so the business is checkable outside its own website.

If the picture in your head is a tin-and-wood barn with a chandelier in it, this is the Sulphur Springs answer. The Savannah sits on what the owners describe as a family farm held for more than a century, run in its time for cotton, cattle and hay, and now kept as an event property.

It is a Hopkins County Chamber member and carries listings on Yelp, WeddingWire and Cvent that agree on the address and phone, which is more corroboration than most barn venues in small-town Texas manage.

The grand ballroom seats about 200 for a reception and divides into two private rooms, each looking out over the 18-hole course and the club's private lake. That view is the argument for it. So is the catering, which is in house and full service, so the food, the bar, the room and the staff all come from one contract instead of four.

The club states plainly on its own events pages that non-members can hold an event here, which is worth knowing because most people assume otherwise and never call.

This one is not in Hopkins County and we are not going to pretend it is. It is in Mount Vernon, roughly twenty minutes east on I-30, and it belongs on a Sulphur Springs list anyway because it is a Hopkins County Chamber member that most local couples tour and because nothing inside the county limits looks quite like it.

The main space runs white walls, wood ceilings and bistro lighting, with a catering kitchen next door and a get-ready room with real makeup stations and lighting rather than a spare closet. Ceremonies happen outside among the pines beside the barn doors or inside in the same room as the reception. Capacity tops out around 175.

The exhibit hall measures 104 by 72 feet with 14-foot ceilings, and the civic center's own figures put a banquet setup at up to 500 people in cushioned chairs at eight-foot tables, with the building advertising weddings up to 750. Nothing else on this list is in that conversation. It is also the flexible option, because you bring your own caterer and the staff will help you find one.

The published wedding package covers the setup day before, chairs and round tables placed before you arrive, cleanup after, a dance floor, house sound and microphone, projectors and screens, and use of the prep kitchen.

The Depot opened as an event space after a renovation, and the Hopkins County Chamber held a ribbon cutting for it in May 2025. The building dates to 1940 by the property record, with ceilings around 13 and a half feet, and it sits on about 1.6 acres, which in practice means parking is not the problem it is downtown.

It is ranked here rather than higher purely on record. It is a real, chamber-listed business with a working phone, but it has no published capacity, no rate card and almost no independent coverage yet, because it has only been open a year.

This is the small-wedding answer, and it is a good one. The house was built in the 1930s by the Ashcroft family and added onto by the Gilreath family in the 1960s, and it has run as a bed and breakfast since 2017. Three suites, the Sycamore, the Dogwood and the Magnolia, each with a private bathroom, each decorated by a different local antique or home decor dealer.

You can rent the whole house for a weekend, which makes it a rehearsal dinner, a getting ready morning, a ceremony and a place for the wedding party to sleep, all at one address a short drive from the square.
