The Short Answer

Aberdeen Custom Gate and Iron is the best gate company in Weatherford, a dedicated fabrication shop on Greenlee Park Trail that has been building gates since 1997. Ryno Fence is the pick when you want one crew to build the gate and wire the operator. Berg Fence and Gate is the call for a solar opener on a long driveway.

Aberdeen Custom Gate and Iron

Greenlee Park Trail, northwest of town · Quote based

Known for Hand-drawn, shop-built custom gates, and the deepest fabrication record in Parker County

Aberdeen began in 1997 as Aberdeen Contracting, building agricultural fence around Parker County, and grew into a shop that does almost nothing but gates. Each one is drawn by hand and then built in the Weatherford shop using plasma and water cutting, MIG and TIG welding, hammer and forge work, and AutoCAD drawings, and the finished gates ship nationwide. Ranch and farmhouse entries are the core of it, with architectural aluminum work alongside.

It is also the most checkable company in this category. Aberdeen appears in the Texas Fence Association member directory, carries a Blue Book contractor profile, and keeps a Houzz portfolio, with the Greenlee Park Trail address matching across all three. What it is not is an emergency call. If your opener died this morning, phone somebody further down this list.

Go-to order or tip: Bring a photo of the whole entrance, columns and driveway approach included. Gate width and swing clearance are set by the approach, not by the gate.

Ryno Fence

FM 51, north side · Quote based

Known for One crew that builds the gate and installs the operator on the same visit

Ryno is a family run shop with a real Weatherford address on FM 51, and it covers the whole range in house, pipe, decorative iron, chain link, wood, custom gates, and automatic gate operators. That combination is rarer than it sounds. Most companies in this market either fabricate or automate, which leaves you coordinating two crews and two warranties on one entrance.

The independent record is good if thin, a Blue Book listing under Weatherford and a 5.0 average on Angi, though on a small number of reviews. The company says most of its work comes from referrals rather than advertising, which matches the pattern of a shop that stays busy in one county.

Go-to order or tip: If you are fencing and gating at the same time, get it quoted as one job. Splitting them is how you end up with a gate that does not line up with the fence line.

Custom Gate and Fence Inc.

Fort Worth Highway · Positions itself on price

Known for The one gate outfit here with a storefront you can actually walk into

An incorporated Weatherford company on Fort Worth Highway, with published weekday hours and a Better Business Bureau file listing Michael E. Jett as owner. It is not BBB accredited. The service list covers fence repair, chain link, automatic gate installation, automatic gate repair, and electric gate repair, so it is one of the few here that will both hang a gate and come back when the opener quits.

Two honest caveats. Directory listings disagree on how long the company has been trading, with claims running to more than four decades, so treat any anniversary number loosely. And its public reviews are more mixed than anyone else on this list, averaging 3.3 across 14 reviews on Birdeye. It earns its place on location, hours, and range rather than on acclaim.

Go-to order or tip: Ask for the gate frame material and the post size in writing. Price gaps between quotes in this town usually come down to pipe wall thickness, not labor.

Berg Fence and Gate

Springtown, about twenty five minutes north · Quote based, free estimates

Known for Solar gate operators for long driveways with no power at the road

Berg is family run and owner operated by Matthew Berg, with fencing roots the family traces back to a company his grandfather opened in the 1950s. It was accredited by the Better Business Bureau in December 2025. The work spans pipe, iron, wood privacy, and vinyl fencing, custom gates, and professionally installed gate operators in both electric and solar.

The solar option is the reason to call. On Parker County acreage the gate is often several hundred feet from the nearest meter, and a solar operator can beat the cost of trenching power out to the road. One thing to know, Berg runs a second Weatherford branded domain for this market. That is a marketing site, not a second location. The business itself is in Springtown, and the BBB file lists a Weatherford address alongside it.

Go-to order or tip: If your gate sits more than a few hundred feet from the meter, price the solar operator against the trenching before you assume electric is cheaper.

North Texas Gate Solutions

Peaster, northwest Parker County · Quote based

Known for A gate-only specialist based in the county rather than a fence company that also does gates

Search for a gate company in Weatherford and most of what comes back is a template city page run from Dallas, Grand Prairie, or somewhere further out. This is one of the few results that is genuinely based in Parker County and works gates exclusively, installation, repair, automation, operator tune-ups, and safety device testing on both homes and ranch properties. Its published service area runs from Weatherford west to Possum Kingdom.

Two things to be straight about. Its public footprint is thinner than everything above it, a Facebook page with a handful of reviews, no chamber listing, and no Better Business Bureau file, and its listed base shows up as both Weatherford and Peaster depending on the source, so there is no walk-in address. It is also a Hello Web Designs client and we built its website, which is why it sits fifth rather than higher.

Go-to order or tip: Ask for a tune-up quote before a replacement quote. Most operator failures out here turn out to be limit switches, batteries, or a bad safety loop rather than a dead motor.

North Texas Welding and Fabrication

Springtown · Quote based

Known for A pipe fence and a matching ranch entry built by the same welders

A locally owned welding and fencing company with a real shop address in Springtown, covering Weatherford, Azle, and Decatur. It runs a full metal fabrication shop plus mobile welding, and the fencing side is pipe, top rail, no-climb wire, ornamental, and custom gates.

The mobile welding is what separates it here. When a trailer clips a gate frame or a hinge tears out of a post, this is a company that can cut and weld in your driveway rather than hauling the gate to a shop and back. On acreage, that difference is a week.

Go-to order or tip: If a hinge post has started to lean, fix the post before you rehang the gate. A gate that drags is almost always a post problem wearing a gate costume.

Parker County Fence

Aledo, about fifteen minutes east · Quote based

Known for A straightforward baseline quote on a standard residential drive gate

One of the longest running fence operations in the county, owned by Jay Bell and listed in the Blue Book directory since 2012, with a Better Business Bureau file under Aledo. The work is wood, chain link, and ornamental fencing with the gates that go in them, which makes it the right call for a normal subdivision entrance rather than a fabricated ranch entry.

Sources disagree on when it started, with 1989 in one directory and more than forty years of experience claimed elsewhere, so we have not put a founding year on it. It also publishes only a post office box in Aledo rather than a street address, so treat it as a phone-first company.

Go-to order or tip: Get this quote first as your baseline, then price custom iron against it. It is the fastest way to see what the fabrication premium actually costs you.

Lambert's Ironworks

Haltom City, roughly forty five minutes east · Quote based

Known for Architectural iron when the gate has to match railings, doors, and a designer's drawing

Founded in 1984 and fabricating in house at a Haltom City shop, Lambert's is the one company here that is plainly not local, and we have labeled it that way rather than folding it in quietly. It publishes project pages for Weatherford, Aledo, and Parker, and it does drive out here.

It belongs on the list for one situation. If your gate is part of a package of ironwork, stair rails, balcony panels, entry doors, drawn by an architect or designer who wants it all to match, a forty year old fabrication shop with that catalog is worth the drive. For a working ranch gate, everything above it is closer and cheaper.

Go-to order or tip: Budget for the site visit. A fabricator an hour out will charge for measuring trips, and gate measurements do not survive being taken by somebody else.

How did we pick these?

We started from the companies that have a checkable physical presence in Parker County, then cross-referenced each one against an independent record, a Better Business Bureau file, a Blue Book contractor profile, the Texas Fence Association member directory, or a chamber listing. A company made the list only if we could confirm it currently operates, that it genuinely builds or services gates rather than listing them as a keyword, and that its phone number and location agreed across at least two sources.

That standard cut most of what a search for this phrase returns. Gate Repair Pro, Weatherford Gate Repair, Automatic Gate Repair Pros, Fence Service Pros, Garage Tec, and Gate Tech Pros all publish Weatherford pages with no verifiable street address anywhere behind them, and several run the same page template across dozens of Texas towns. Those are lead-generation sites, not local companies, so none of them are here. We also left off J and J Automatic Gate Service, a real and long-established DFW company, because we could not confirm a base address from any source outside its own site, and Texas Made Fencing and Weatherford Fencing Company, both of which appear to be genuine local operations with no publishable address or independent record we could find. Parker Construction and Fence turns up in the Weatherford Chamber directory but is actually based in Godley, an hour away.

North Texas Gate Solutions at number five is a Hello Web Designs client, the studio that publishes this site, and we built its website. It sits fifth rather than higher for exactly the reason stated on its card, its independent record is thinner than the four companies above it. It earned the spot because it is a gate-only specialist actually based in the county, which almost nothing else in these search results can say.

Who is actually based in Weatherford, and who just says so?

Three of the eight have an address inside Weatherford. The rest are in Springtown, Aledo, Peaster, and Haltom City, and each is labeled with its real base on its own card rather than quietly folded in. In gate work this matters more than in most trades, because a broken operator is an emergency and a fabricator forty five minutes away is not going to treat it like one.

Company Based in Best for
Aberdeen Custom Gate and Iron Weatherford A fabricated custom ranch or farmhouse entry
Ryno Fence Weatherford Gate and operator from a single crew
Custom Gate and Fence Inc. Weatherford A walk-in storefront and opener repair
Berg Fence and Gate Springtown Solar operators on long driveways
North Texas Gate Solutions Peaster Service, tune-ups, and automation only
North Texas Welding and Fabrication Springtown Pipe fence with a matching entry, mobile welding
Parker County Fence Aledo A baseline quote on a standard drive gate
Lambert's Ironworks Haltom City Architectural iron matched to other metalwork

What should you know before you buy a gate?

The posts decide everything. A gate is a lever, and a fourteen foot leaf hanging on an undersized post will sag inside two years no matter how well the gate itself is welded. When you compare quotes, compare post size, depth, and concrete first, then look at the gate.

Power is the second question and it is usually settled before you start shopping. Walk out to your entrance and find the nearest meter or panel. If it is a long way off, you are choosing between a solar operator and a trench, and that decision changes which of these companies you should call.

Wind matters out here too. A solid panel gate on open Parker County acreage catches wind like a sail and puts real load on the operator and hinges. Most local shops will steer you toward a design with gaps for that reason, and if a quote does not mention it, ask.

Finally, separate fabrication from service in your head. Aberdeen and Lambert's build things. North Texas Gate Solutions fixes and automates them. Ryno, Berg, Custom Gate and Fence, and North Texas Welding do some of both. Calling the wrong kind of company is the most common way people waste a week on this.

What should you do next?

Decide first whether this is a build or a repair, because that splits the list in half. For a repair or an operator that has quit, start with the three companies that service automation and ask for a diagnostic before a replacement quote. For a new entrance, get two quotes from different categories, one fabricator and one fence-and-gate company, and make both price the posts and the operator as separate lines so you can see where the money actually goes.

Then walk the driveway with whoever you hire, before the contract. Approach angle, slope, and where a delivery truck has to stop are the things that get gates rebuilt.

Frequently Asked Questions

None of these companies publish fixed pricing, and any per-foot number you find online for this market is an advertisement rather than a quote. The variables that actually move the price are gate width, whether the frame is pipe or ornamental iron and how thick the wall is, the operator class, and whether power already reaches the entrance. Get two or three written quotes that price the gate, the posts, and the operator as separate lines.

It depends on whether your entrance sits inside the Weatherford city limits or out in the county, and gate operators usually involve electrical work, which is permitted differently from the gate itself. Ask the City of Weatherford permits office or Parker County before the crew arrives rather than after. Any established local company will already know which jurisdiction your driveway falls under and should tell you without being asked.

Solar makes sense when the gate is far from the nearest power and trenching would cost more than the panel and battery. Electric makes sense when power is already at the entrance or close to it, and it handles heavy daily cycling better. Berg Fence and Gate installs both and prices them against each other. The honest test is the trenching quote.

A gate automation specialist rather than a fabricator. North Texas Gate Solutions, Custom Gate and Fence, and Ryno Fence all service operators, where Aberdeen and Lambert's are fabrication shops. Before you book anything, check the battery, the safety photo eyes, and whether debris is sitting in the safety loop, because those three account for most of the failures out here.

A fence company builds the run and hangs a gate as part of it, which is what you want for a standard residential entrance. A gate company either fabricates the entry as a standalone piece, as Aberdeen and Lambert's do, or specializes in the automation and service side, as North Texas Gate Solutions does. Ryno Fence and Berg Fence and Gate sit in the middle and do both.

Ask for the lead time in writing, because it varies by shop and by season and nobody here publishes a standard figure. What drives it is design approval, steel availability, the coating or finish, and whether the columns and posts need to be set before the gate can be hung. A fabricated custom entry is a project with a drawing stage. A stock gate hung on existing posts is not.
