The Best Restaurants in Lindale, Texas

Nine Lindale restaurants verified against the chamber directory, the city list and their own websites, from a Texas Monthly pit to the Cannery complex.

The Short Answer

Brisket Love Barbecue & Icehouse on FM 849 is the best restaurant in Lindale, the only one in town with a Texas Monthly write up. Vienmex at The Cannery is the highest rated kitchen in Lindale on review count, and The B Birria & Burgers on South Main is the best cheap meal in town.

Brisket Love Barbecue & Icehouse

FM 849, north east of town · $$

Known for The only Lindale pit Texas Monthly has written up, plus live music on the stage

Texas Monthly called Brisket Love a required stop on any East Texas barbecue tour, and it is the only restaurant in Lindale with a credential of that kind. It is an icehouse as much as a pit, with a stage, games and a yard, and its own site advertises live music alongside the barbecue.

The detail worth knowing is on its own homepage. The barbecue serving line runs shorter hours than the kitchen, closing between 8pm and 9pm depending on the day while the kitchen stays open an hour longer, and the site states plainly that barbecue sells during serving line hours unless it sells out first. If brisket is the point, go early.

Go-to order or tip: Go for the serving line, not the kitchen hours. The barbecue stops when it sells out, and the published closing times on its own contact page run an hour later than the ones on its homepage.

Hours
Closed Monday, Tuesday to Sunday from 11am, with the serving line closing before the kitchen does

Vienmex Asian Fusion Street Food

The Cannery, Miranda Lambert Way · $

Known for The highest rated kitchen in Lindale, and a hibachi fried rice burrito

Vienmex carries about a 4.8 rating across roughly 440 reviews on Restaurant Guru and 4.7 across more than 200 on DoorDash, which is the strongest review record in town on a genuinely large sample. It is a Lindale Area Chamber of Commerce member at The Cannery, the redeveloped canning plant complex on Miranda Lambert Way.

The cooking is Vietnamese and Mexican crossed deliberately rather than apologetically. The two dishes reviewers keep naming are the bang bang shrimp tacos and an Asian burrito filled with hibachi fried rice and cut into rounds. The pho is the one item that draws consistent complaints, so order around it.

Go-to order or tip: Order the shrimp tacos or the fried rice burrito rather than the pho. The pho is the one dish reviewers repeatedly flag.

Hours
Roughly 11am to 9pm daily, with an earlier Sunday close on some listings

The B Birria & Burgers

South Main Street · $

Known for Birria tacos and burgers from one counter, at about 4.8 across every platform

A chamber member on South Main running roughly 4.8 across more than 200 reviews, which puts it level with Vienmex and ahead of everything else in Lindale. The premise is simple and it is in the name, birria tacos on one side and burgers on the other, with quick counter service that reviewers single out as often as the food.

Two cautions from the reviews rather than from us. A minority find the burger patty itself plain, and the birria noodles get mixed reports. The tacos are what the rating is built on.

Go-to order or tip: Closed Sunday and Monday, and it shuts at 8pm. This is a weekday lunch or an early weekend dinner, not a late one.

Hours
Tuesday to Saturday from around 11am to 8pm, closed Sunday and Monday

Italian Garden

South Main Street · $$

Known for The family Italian room on South Main, and the garlic bread

Italian Garden holds about a 4.6 rating across roughly 480 reviews, the largest review base of any sit down restaurant in Lindale, and it is on the chamber directory with a matching address and phone. It is family owned, casual, and the entry on this list most likely to work for a table with children in it, with high chairs, boosters and a kids pizza all noted by reviewers.

Its own site publishes the schedule, and the listings broadly agree with it for once. The one thing to know is that the building sits set back from South Main and is easy to drive past, which more than one review mentions.

Go-to order or tip: It is set back off South Main behind the frontage, so use the street number rather than looking for a sign. The garlic bread is the thing reviewers mention before any entree.

Hours
Closed Monday, Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday 11am to 9pm, Friday and Saturday 11am to 10pm

LaCascio's Scratch Italian

The Cannery, Miranda Lambert Way · $$$

Known for Scratch Italian at The Cannery, and the most ambitious plates in town

LaCascio's is the upper end of Lindale dining and the second Italian kitchen on this list, which tells you something about the town. Its own menu runs chicken marsala, stuffed flounder and jumbo shrimp in a white wine and lemon basil cream with Romano and sourdough, with a rum infused tiramisu to close.

It sits in The Cannery with indoor and outdoor seating, bar seats, a dining room and private dining, which is more room than anywhere else here. It is ranked below Italian Garden only because its review base is much smaller, around 54 on Yelp against Italian Garden's 480, not because the cooking is simpler. It plainly is not.

Go-to order or tip: This is the one place in Lindale worth booking for an occasion. The stuffed flounder and the Italian nachos are the orders that come up most in reviews.

Hours
Sunday to Thursday 11am to 8pm, Friday and Saturday 11am to 9pm, per its own site

Texas Music City Grill & Smokehouse

The Cannery, Miranda Lambert Way · $$

Known for Texas Twinkies, live music, and the only kitchen in Lindale running past 10pm

The big room at The Cannery, next door to Miranda Lambert's Pink Pistol store, in the building that used to trade as Love and War in Texas. It carries the most reviews of anything in Lindale on Yelp, over 200, and it is the venue entry on this list, with live music, dancing and a bar as much as a menu.

What people order is the Texas Twinkies, brisket tacos, brisket enchiladas and a 12 ounce ribeye. It is ranked here rather than higher because the published closing times range from 8.45pm to midnight depending on which platform you believe, and because the street number appears as both 66 and 55 Miranda Lambert Way. The chamber says 66.

Go-to order or tip: It is the only late option in town, but confirm the closing time before a drive. Listings disagree by more than three hours on weekend nights.

Hours
Opens 11am daily, running latest on Friday and Saturday, with closing times that vary by a few hours across listings

Leo's Asian Bistro

South Main Street · $$

Known for Weekend sushi, and the broadest vegetarian and gluten free options in Lindale

Leo's is on both the Lindale Area Chamber of Commerce directory and the City of Lindale's own restaurant list, with its own site on both, which is the strongest paper trail of anything in the second half of this list. The kitchen runs Bang Bang Chicken, General Tso's, Mongolian beef, pad thai and a cream of cilantro soup, and the sushi bar runs hardest on Friday and Saturday nights.

It is also the most accommodating kitchen in town. Dishes can be made vegetarian or vegan with tofu, and gluten free entrees are offered. Review scores sit around 4.0 to 4.3 across platforms, which is honest rather than outstanding, and a minority of reviewers find the prices high for the portion.

Go-to order or tip: Go Friday or Saturday evening if sushi is the point. Saturday hours are the ones the listings disagree on most, so call (903) 882-5367 first.

Hours
Roughly 11am to 8.30pm on weekdays, with Saturday hours that differ sharply between listings and Sunday a short lunch

Petty's Steak & Catfish

North Main Street · $$

Known for Breakfast from 6am, hand cut steaks and fried catfish, on North Main for two decades

Petty's is the oldest independent on this list. Its own site says it has been part of Lindale for more than 20 years, Yellow Pages claims 29, and both the chamber and the City of Lindale's own restaurant directory carry it, the city listing under the name Petty's with Jeff Crews as the contact. It opens at 6am, five hours before anything else in town.

Hand cut steaks, fried catfish, chicken fried favourites and a full breakfast. Review scores are moderate, around 3.7 on Yelp and 4.1 on Restaurantji, and the recurring complaint is inconsistency at busy times rather than the cooking itself. The catfish and the chicken fried steak are what the good reviews are about.

Go-to order or tip: Come for breakfast. The 6am open is the thing nothing else in Lindale offers, and Sunday service stops at 2pm.

Hours
Breakfast from 6am, closing at 8pm most days, 8.30pm Friday and Saturday and 2pm Sunday, per its own site

Pop's Honey Fried Chicken

North Main Street · $

Known for Honey fried chicken and fried catfish, seven days a week

A chamber member on North Main with a consistent address and phone across every source we checked, open seven days when several better rated places in Lindale are not. The reviews are about the fried chicken and the fried catfish, and about value for the price.

It is last because it is the weakest of the nine on the numbers, and we would rather say so than bury it. Scores run from 3.8 on Yelp to 4.3 on larger aggregated samples. The recurring complaints are over salted or over crisped chicken and the mac and cheese. Order the chicken and the catfish, skip the sides.

Go-to order or tip: Order the chicken or the catfish and leave the mac and cheese alone. It is the one item reviewers name negatively more than once.

Hours
Around 11am to 9pm seven days, with some listings showing a 10am open

How did we pick these?

Lindale has about 7,000 people and two official directories, which is a better starting position than most towns this size. The Lindale Area Chamber of Commerce runs a live member directory with 61 entries under restaurants, catering and winery, each with a street address and a phone number, and we read it directly. The City of Lindale publishes its own restaurant list as a PDF with a named contact for each business, which is where the Petty's and Leo's Asian Bistro details above came from. Five of the nine publish their own websites. Where a directory and a restaurant disagreed, the restaurant won.

The chamber directory also needs reading carefully, because a Lindale chamber membership is not a Lindale address. Of its 61 food entries, more than 20 are in Tyler, Mineola, Troup, Kilgore, Gladewater, Tatum, Palestine or Garden Valley. Cracker Barrel, Chick-fil-A, Starbucks and Jucys all appear under Lindale with Tyler street addresses, because Lindale's retail strip bleeds into north Tyler along Highway 69. Everything on the list above has a Lindale, TX 75771 address. Collin Street Bakery is the interesting borderline case: it genuinely has a Lindale shop at 17044 I-20 West, but it is the Corsicana fruitcake company's outlet store rather than a restaurant, and it belongs with things to do in Corsicana instead.

The cuts were mostly about evidence rather than quality. Lindale Ice House at 500 S Main St appears on both official directories with a phone number and nothing else: no hours, no menu, no website, no recent reviews we could find, and we are not sending readers to an address we cannot describe. Posados and Cinco de Mayo are real and busy, but Posados is an East Texas chain with its own corporate site and Cinco de Mayo could not be corroborated beyond directory entries. Euro Dream Cafe, Juicy J's TX Melts and Julie's Coffee and Cacao are chamber members whose listings carry no street address at all. The older City of Lindale PDF also lists Simply Berties, Taqueria El Lugar, Cole's Backyard Grill and Pizza, Pasta, Amore Ristoranti, none of which appear on the current chamber directory, which is the sort of gap that usually means a closure rather than an oversight. We left all four off rather than guess.

The chains went out as a matter of course: Chili's, Whataburger, Sonic, Dairy Queen, Chicken Express, Taco Bell, Burger King, McDonald's, Schlotzsky's, Subway and Wingstop all trade on South Main and none of them tells you anything about Lindale. No business on this list is a client of ours. Nothing in our client file matched Lindale and restaurants, so this is a straight editorial ranking.

What should you know before you go?

Lindale eats in three clusters and all three are a short drive apart. South Main is the commercial strip, where Italian Garden, Leo's and The B sit among the chains. North Main is the older side of town, with Petty's and Pop's. The Cannery on Miranda Lambert Way, the redeveloped canning plant that gave the complex its name, holds three of the nine in two buildings, and is the one place you can park once and choose.

The pattern to plan around is that Monday is a bad day to eat here and the town closes early. Brisket Love, Italian Garden and The B all shut on Monday, and only Petty's serves before 11am.

Restaurant Where Kind Own website Closed
Brisket Love 15338 FM 849 Barbecue and icehouse Yes Monday
Vienmex 75 Miranda Lambert Way Asian and Mexican No Open seven days
The B Birria & Burgers 413 S Main St Birria and burgers No Sunday and Monday
Italian Garden 2701 S Main St Italian Yes Monday
LaCascio's 75 Miranda Lambert Way Scratch Italian Yes Open seven days
Texas Music City Grill 66 Miranda Lambert Way Smokehouse and venue No Open seven days, late weekends
Leo's Asian Bistro 2808 S Main St Asian and sushi Yes Saturday hours vary, call
Petty's Steak & Catfish 309 N Main St Steak, catfish, breakfast Yes Open seven days, 6am start
Pop's Honey Fried Chicken 802 N Main St Fried chicken No Open seven days

Nothing in Lindale is walkable from anything else except the three at The Cannery, so plan on driving. Highway 69 runs north to south through town and I-20 clips the southern edge, which is why the barbecue draws from Tyler and Dallas rather than just from Lindale.

What should you do next?

Make it a Saturday and work outward from The Cannery. Lunch at Vienmex or LaCascio's, the Pink Pistol and Red 55 Winery in the same complex, then Brisket Love on FM 849 for an early dinner before the serving line runs out, with live music on the stage after. That is the best day Lindale offers and it costs one tank of petrol.

If you only have one meal, drive to Brisket Love and get there before 6pm. If you are passing through on I-20 and want something fast and genuinely good, The B Birria & Burgers on South Main is the one. The Lindale city hub collects everything we publish about the town, the best restaurants category has the same treatment for other Texas towns, and the best restaurants in Tyler covers the much larger field 15 miles south. For a day out rather than a meal, the antique shops in Mineola are 25 miles north east on the same back roads.

Frequently Asked Questions

Lindale is Miranda Lambert's hometown, and The Cannery complex on Miranda Lambert Way takes its name from the town's old canning plant. Three of the restaurants above sit inside it, next to her Pink Pistol store and the Red 55 Winery. Lindale is also East Texas rose and blackberry country.

Yes. Brisket Love Barbecue & Icehouse on FM 849 is the one Lindale restaurant Texas Monthly has written up, calling it a required stop on an East Texas barbecue tour. Texas Music City Grill & Smokehouse at The Cannery runs a second smoker alongside its live music.

Texas Music City Grill & Smokehouse at 66 Miranda Lambert Way, plus LaCascio's Scratch Italian and Vienmex Asian Fusion Street Food, which share the building at 75 Miranda Lambert Way. The Pink Pistol store and Red 55 Winery are in the same complex at number 55.

Petty's Steak & Catfish at 309 N Main St opens at 6am and serves breakfast through the morning, which is the earliest in town by several hours. Donut Palace at 116 N Main is the other early option, though it is a counter rather than a restaurant.

About 15 miles north of Tyler on Highway 69, which is roughly 20 minutes. That proximity is why the Lindale chamber directory carries so many Tyler businesses, and why a serious meal in Lindale often draws people driving up from Tyler rather than the reverse.
