The Best Wedding Venues in Nacogdoches, Texas

Six Nacogdoches wedding venues verified against their own websites, from a downtown hotel that seats up to 1,000 to a 1905 chapel in a historic village.

The Short Answer

The Fredonia Hotel and Convention Center at 200 North Fredonia Street is the best wedding venue in Nacogdoches, with four event spaces running from 24 guests to 1,000 and rooms for the whole party on site. The Madory on County Road 228 is the barn to book, and Brick Street 205 downtown is the small-wedding answer at a published $350 per night.

The Fredonia Hotel and Convention Center

Downtown, two blocks off the brick streets · $$$

Known for Four event spaces, a 1,000-guest convention center, and guest rooms under the same roof

The Fredonia is the only venue in Nacogdoches where the ceremony, the reception, the rehearsal dinner and every out-of-town guest can stay in one building. The hotel publishes its four spaces and their limits on its own site, which almost nothing else in this market does. Convention Center A and B is 10,000 square feet and holds up to 1,000 guests, described by the hotel as suited to wedding receptions. The Banita Ballroom is 2,500 square feet for up to 150. The Rusk Room holds 40 and the Raquet Room 24, which covers rehearsal dinners and welcome drinks.

The practical case is logistics rather than romance. A midcentury modern hotel two blocks from the downtown brick streets means no shuttle, no second contract for lodging, and a bar and kitchen already in the building. If your guest list is spread across Houston and Dallas, both roughly two and a half hours out, that matters more than any photograph of a barn.

Go-to order or tip: Ask about the Banita Ballroom before the convention center. At 150 guests it reads as a wedding room rather than a conference hall, and most Nacogdoches weddings fit inside it.

The Madory

County Road 228, in the country north of town · $$$

Known for A barn plus a separate open-air pavilion, so the ceremony and the reception get different rooms

Formerly known as The Barn Nacogdoches, The Madory is the venue that shows up most often on actual Nacogdoches wedding websites for 2025 and 2026, which is the best evidence a venue is really operating. Its own site describes a picturesque barn and an open air pavilion, and the pairing is the point. You can hold the ceremony outdoors under cover and move the party inside without tearing down a single room and rebuilding it during cocktail hour.

Be careful with the numbers you read about this place. The wedding marketplaces list its capacity as 250, 275 and 251 to 300 depending on which one you open, and starting prices from $7,000 to $8,500, none of which appear on the venue's own site. Get both figures from the venue in writing. The second phone number, (936) 556-0467, is also published on its contact page.

Go-to order or tip: Book a walkthrough on a day with weather like your wedding date. The pavilion is open air, and how that feels in August versus March is the whole decision.

Southern Bliss Weddings

Highway 59 South · $$

Known for A 7,100 square foot barn, a chapel and a gazebo on one property, with the rental inventory included

Southern Bliss gives you a ceremony chapel, a gazebo or covered outdoor area, and a 7,100 square foot barn in a single booking, which means a rain plan that does not involve moving cars. The number on its own site that matters most is not the square footage but the inventory list. Tables, linens, chairs, vases, antique buffets, serving pieces and table runners all come with the venue.

That is the line item couples underestimate. Renting tables, chairs and linens for 150 people separately is a four figure expense before anybody has eaten, and venues that include them are not directly comparable to venues that do not. Southern Bliss is honest that it does not provide everything, and keeps a vendor list for food, music and flowers rather than forcing a package on you.

Go-to order or tip: Price your quote against a bare barn with rentals added back in. Included tables, chairs and linens often make this the cheapest real total in town.

Millard's Crossing Historic Village

North Street, on the north side of town · $$

Known for A white wooden chapel built in 1905, inside a village of relocated historic East Texas buildings

This is the most distinctive ceremony site in Nacogdoches and nothing else in town is close. Millard's Crossing is a collection of historic East Texas structures assembled on roughly ten acres, and the centerpiece for weddings is a white wooden chapel built in 1905 by a Free Methodist congregation, which the village's own site says seats approximately 75 to 100 guests and is available to rent for weddings. The Rebellion Barn, the newest addition, handles receptions, and the whole village can be rented for larger events.

The trade is size. A hundred guests is the realistic ceiling in the chapel, so this is a venue for a small or medium wedding that wants a genuinely old building rather than a new one styled to look old. Rental is booked through the village rather than a wedding marketplace, and the office keeps museum hours, Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Go-to order or tip: Call during village hours, not evenings. Rentals are handled through the museum office, and the booking page is separate from the admission page.

Windham's Yellow Rose

County Road 217 at Lazy J Lane, northwest of town · $$

Known for Matched indoor and outdoor seating for 150 each, with tables, chairs and decor included

Windham's publishes the one number most venues in this market will not put on a web page, and it publishes it twice. Seating for 150 inside and 150 outside, plus 16 in a conference room. Matched capacity in both directions is the quiet luxury here, because it means an outdoor ceremony can move indoors in full without anybody standing.

The rental includes tables and chairs, wedding decor and party themes, and the property has fishing access, which tells you what kind of place it is. This is a country property on a county road rather than a polished event center, and the site is plain about what comes with the room. The 16-seat conference room is a real asset for a getting-ready space or a Friday night family dinner.

Go-to order or tip: Ask what the decor inventory actually contains. Venues that include decor vary enormously, and seeing it in person beats seeing it styled in a photograph.

Brick Street 205

East Main Street, in the historic downtown · $

Known for A published $350 per night rate in a restored downtown building, for small weddings

Brick Street 205 is the only venue on this list that prints a price on its own website, and the price is $350 per night, which includes early key pickup the day before your event. A refundable $150 deposit holds the date. In a category where every other number we found came from a wedding marketplace rather than the venue, that transparency is worth ranking for on its own.

Know what it is. This is an intimate downtown room for a small wedding, a shower, a rehearsal dinner or a milestone birthday, not a 200-guest reception hall, and the site frames it that way with the line Celebrate Love, Intimately. If your list is twenty or forty people and you want the historic brick streets outside the door, this is the cheapest good answer in Nacogdoches by a wide margin.

Go-to order or tip: It takes cash, check, Venmo or Zelle, not cards. Sort payment out when you book rather than the week of the wedding.

How did we pick these?

We rebuilt this list from the venues' own websites rather than from the wedding marketplaces, and that decision is the reason it is six entries instead of fifteen.

Nacogdoches throws up a long list of venue names across The Knot, WeddingWire, Zola, Eventective and Yelp, and those listings disagree with each other badly. The Madory appears with capacities of 250, 275 and 251 to 300, and starting prices of $7,000 and $8,500. Millard's Crossing shows a 51 to 100 guest capacity on one platform and 150 on another, attached to a listing roughly three years stale. Publishing any of that as fact would be guessing with a dollar sign in front of it.

So the rule here was simple. A venue made the list if we could reach its own website, confirm it is operating, and read its address off a page the venue controls. All six cleared that. Where a venue publishes a capacity or a price we used its number and said so, and where it does not, we say so.

Two names did not make it. Pine Creek Country Inn is a real place with real event space, but its website would not load, two listings give different phone numbers, and directories disagree on its ZIP code. The Old Tobacco Warehouse on North Pecan Street has no website we could find, two phone numbers across listings, and capacity figures of 500 and 1,000 on the same platform. One warning while you search: Millard's Crossing's older domain, millardscrossing.org, now serves unrelated spam content. The live site is mchvnac.com.

Nobody on this list has any relationship with us, and nothing here is sponsored or paid for.

Which Nacogdoches venue fits your guest count?

Guest count narrows this faster than style does. Here is what each venue actually publishes.

Venue Published capacity Price published by the venue Setting
The Fredonia Hotel 24 to 1,000 across four rooms No Downtown hotel
The Madory Not published No Barn and open-air pavilion
Southern Bliss Weddings 7,100 sq ft barn, no guest count No Barn, chapel and gazebo
Millard's Crossing Chapel seats 75 to 100 No 1905 chapel, historic village
Windham's Yellow Rose 150 inside, 150 outside, 16 conference No Country property
Brick Street 205 Not published Yes, $350 per night Historic downtown room

Under 50 guests, Brick Street 205 and the Fredonia's smaller rooms. Around 100, the Millard's Crossing chapel. At 150, Windham's Yellow Rose or the Banita Ballroom. Above 200, you are choosing between The Madory and the Fredonia convention center, and only one of those publishes a number.

What should you know before you book?

Get the capacity and the rate in writing from the venue, not from a listing. This is the single practical lesson of researching this market. Four of these six publish neither figure publicly, and the third-party numbers filling that gap are inconsistent enough to blow up a budget.

Count what is included separately. Southern Bliss includes tables, linens, chairs, serving pieces and table runners; Windham's includes tables, chairs and decor. A venue that costs more and includes the rental inventory can easily be cheaper than a cheaper venue that does not, and the difference at 150 guests runs well into four figures.

Four of the six are outside town on county roads or highways. If most of your guests are driving in from Houston or Dallas, roughly two and a half hours each, think about whether you want them navigating a county road in the dark after the reception. The Fredonia, with rooms in the building, is the obvious answer to that question, and Brick Street 205 puts guests within walking distance of downtown.

Finally, visit in the season you are marrying in. The Madory's pavilion is open air, and Windham's splits its seating between inside and outside. Both are wonderful in October and a different proposition in August.

What else does a Nacogdoches wedding weekend need?

The out-of-town guests will ask you where to eat, so have an answer ready. Our Nacogdoches barbecue ranking covers the pits, including a Texas Monthly Top 50 entry on East Main, and the Nacogdoches city guide collects everything else we have published about the oldest town in Texas.

If you are comparing across East Texas, Longview is about an hour and a half north and has a deeper bench of large venues, which we go through in the Longview wedding venue ranking.

What should you do next?

Make two phone calls this week. Call the Fredonia at (936) 564-1234 and ask for the Banita Ballroom capacity and rate on your date, which gives you a downtown benchmark with lodging attached. Then call The Madory at (936) 554-2974 and ask the same two questions, which gives you the barn benchmark. The gap between those two quotes will tell you more about your real budget than any listing site will.

If your list is under fifty, skip both and start at Brick Street 205, where the number is already public.

Frequently Asked Questions

Only one venue on this list publishes a rate. Brick Street 205 charges $350 per night with a refundable $150 deposit. Every other figure circulating for Nacogdoches venues comes from wedding marketplaces rather than the venues themselves, and those listings contradicted each other by thousands of dollars on the same property, so we did not print them. Ask each venue directly for a current quote.

The Fredonia Hotel's Convention Center A and B, which the hotel's own site lists at 10,000 square feet and up to 1,000 guests. Nothing else in town is in that range. Southern Bliss has a 7,100 square foot barn, and The Madory is listed by marketplaces somewhere between 250 and 300, though the venue does not publish a figure.

Two on this list. The Fredonia Hotel sits at 200 North Fredonia Street, two blocks from the brick streets, and Brick Street 205 is on East Main in the historic district. The other four are on county roads or highways outside the center, so budget for guest driving and consider a hotel block if you choose one of those.

Yes, and it changes the real cost. Southern Bliss Weddings lists tables, linens, chairs, vases, antique buffets, serving pieces and table runners as included. Windham's Yellow Rose includes tables, chairs and wedding decor. Compare those quotes against a bare venue with rental costs added back in before deciding which is cheaper.

The 1905 chapel at Millard's Crossing Historic Village is the clearest option, seating approximately 75 to 100 guests inside a village of relocated historic East Texas structures on about ten acres. Brick Street 205 is a restored building in the downtown historic district. Both work best for weddings under about 100 guests.

Both are roughly two and a half hours away by car, which is close enough for guests to drive in the morning of a late afternoon ceremony but far enough that most will want a room. The Fredonia has lodging in the same building as the event space, which is the simplest solution to that problem.
