The Best Coffee Shops in Paris, Texas

Paris Coffee opened on Collegiate Drive in 2005, the work of Steve and Marsha Martin, and it is the closest thing Paris has to a coffee brand of its own. The Lamar County Chamber calendar carried a twentieth anniversary ribbon cutting for it on 10 October 2025.

In 2024 it added a second, larger store downtown at 111 Lamar Ave, which trades on social media as downtown.coffee and carries its own number, (903) 329-2392. The downtown room is the one with space to sit and a short walk to Culbertson Fountain. The Collegiate store is the one that opens earlier and stays open later.

Huey's is an East Texas company headquartered in Mount Pleasant, where it roasts its own coffee inside a former Studebaker dealership with a Bell UH-1 helicopter mounted on the roof. The East Texas Journal wrote the building up in February 2026. Paris is its sixth store, alongside Gilmer, Pittsburg and Mount Pleasant.

It is a chain and we are calling it one. It earns second place on two things chains rarely offer. The coffee is roasted in house by the same company, and the Lamar Avenue window runs from six in the morning to eight at night on weekdays and Saturday, which is longer than anything else here.

Family owned and operated since 2001, which makes it one of the longest-running independent coffee stops in Paris. The menu runs well past coffee into breakfast burritos, sandwiches, soups and a dessert case, and there are vegetarian and vegan options, which is not a given in this town.

The drive-through is the practical argument. It sits at the end of a strip on South Collegiate with easy parking, the room is single level with step-free access, and the aggregator reviews keep circling back to the Friday chicken spaghetti.

The Lamar County Chamber files Paris Bakery under both bakeries and coffee shops, which is the honest way to think about it. The coffee is locally sourced and it is there to go with the case rather than the other way round.

If your idea of a coffee stop involves something laminated and still warm, this is the best answer in Paris and it is a two minute walk from the fountain. If you want a laptop and two quiet hours, it is not.

Bo's is a locally owned, family-run drive-through espresso operation, and the Lamar County Chamber lists its Paris stand at 3143 NE Loop 286, out by the Home2 Suites and the Paris Conference and Events Center. Its social accounts are shared with Southern Snow, the same family's shaved ice business, and the Paris opening was announced there for 1 October.

It is the newest independent here and the public record is correspondingly thin, which is why it sits at five rather than higher. What it gives you is a quick espresso drink on the northeast side without joining a chain queue.

Scooter's opened its first Paris store at 4075 Lamar Ave with a grand opening on 3 June 2022, after MyParisTexas trailed an April date that slipped. It is a national franchise and it is ranked here on that basis, not on anything specific to Paris.

What it does reliably is a quick drive-thru espresso drink and a baked-from-scratch pastry early on a weekday, on the retail stretch where most of Paris is already driving. That is a real answer, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest.

The Paris store sits at the Loop 286 and Lamar corner, and its own store page lists it open from half four in the morning until ten at night, every day of the week. Nothing else in town is serving at either end of that.

It is last on purpose. Every independent above it gives you something a national chain cannot. But if it is a quarter to five in the morning, or nine at night, or a Sunday, this is the entry that will be open.
