Eight verified Lufkin wedding venues with addresses, phones, capacities, and the few published rental rates, from a 300 guest warehouse to a $500 county room.

The Short Answer

The Historic Warehouse on Thompson Street is the best wedding venue in Lufkin, because it holds 300 guests in 9,000 square feet and publishes its actual package prices, which almost no other venue here does. The Grand on First is the all inclusive downtown pick, and the Angelina County Exposition Center is the budget room.

The Historic Warehouse

Just north of downtown · $4,500 to $9,000

Known for The only Lufkin venue that publishes its full package prices and what is in them

Operated by Drake Venues, this is a genuine warehouse conversion on more than three acres, with over 9,000 square feet of open floor that can be divided, original wood floors, high vaulted ceilings and a ten foot wraparound porch. It seats up to 300, runs 30 tons of HVAC so an August wedding is survivable, and books one event at a time, so you are not sharing the property.

What puts it first is that the rates are on the website. The Gold package is $9,000 and includes Friday 9am to 4pm plus Saturday 8am to midnight, full decorating including silks, two meetings with a designer, a coordinator, and tables, Apple Wood folding chairs and linens for 200. The Silver DIY day is $4,500 on a Friday or $5,500 on a Saturday for up to 175. The Thursday only Enchantment package is $4,500 for up to 40 guests and includes a light meal, cake and two hours of photography. Outside vendors are allowed at no extra cost on every tier.

Go-to order or tip: If your guest list is under 40, ask about the Thursday Enchantment package before you price anything else in town. It is the only small wedding product in Lufkin with a published number attached.

The Grand on First

Downtown · $$$

Known for Four all inclusive packages with catering, bar, DJ and decor handled in house

Established in 2017 and remodeled in 2024, The Grand is the downtown option for couples who do not want to assemble a vendor team. Catering, bartending, DJ, decor and security are all in house, and the building has private bridal and groom suites plus a dual access bar.

The four packages are clearly scoped even though prices are not published. Grand Luxe is a plated dinner for 150 with two signature drinks, real greenery and floral centerpieces, five hours of DJ, a photo booth and a light up dance floor. Grand Premier is the same shape with a buffet and one signature drink. The Classic Celebration is a buffet for 100 where you supply the alcohol and their bartenders pour it. The Social Experience is Saturday only, 100 guests, appetizers and popcorn. Every tier includes a coordinator for the rehearsal and the wedding.

Go-to order or tip: The Classic and Social tiers let you bring your own alcohol and still use their bartenders, which is usually the single biggest line item you can cut at a full service venue.

Eden Hill Event Venue

Asa Read Road, southeast of town · $$

Known for A blank canvas room with its own bridal suite, groom's lounge and exterior spaces

Eden Hill describes itself as an elegant blank canvas venue for weddings and major events, which is accurate and is the point. You get ceremony and reception space, a bridal suite, a groom's lounge and exterior areas, and you bring your own look rather than working around somebody else's decor scheme.

It also runs a bridal fair on site, which is the cheapest way to see the room dressed and meet several Angelina County vendors in one afternoon. Capacity figures float around the wedding marketplaces and do not agree with each other, so ask the venue directly rather than trusting a directory number.

Go-to order or tip: Ask when the next bridal fair is before you book a private tour. Seeing the space already styled tells you more than an empty walkthrough.

Known for The only room in Lufkin that can seat a 500 person reception, or 1,200 combined

This is the city run facility, and for a very large wedding it is the only realistic answer in Angelina County. The banquet capacities Visit Lufkin publishes room by room are 500 in the Angelina room, 300 in the Lufkin room, 150 in Roadrunner or Panther and 80 in the Texas room. Combine Angelina, Roadrunner, Lufkin and Panther and you are at 1,200 seated for dinner.

It comes with a catering kitchen, dressing rooms, rental dinnerware and a lobby that works for a cocktail reception before you open the main room. It is a convention center and it looks like one, so budget for draping and lighting. Rates are not published, so you request the facility use agreement and rate sheet from convention services.

Go-to order or tip: Brant Lee is the convention services director and the direct line is (936) 630-0527. Start there rather than the general tourism number.

Angelina County Exposition Center

Ellen Trout Drive, by the zoo · $500 to $900 per day

Known for The cheapest published wedding rate in Lufkin, in writing, from the county

The county publishes an actual rate schedule, which makes this the most honest number in this article. The Special Events Room is $500 a day, and that figure includes a $250 refundable deposit for cleanup and damage. The main building, which takes in all the barns and the pavilion arena, is $900 a day, or $500 for non-profits. Those rates have been in effect since January 9, 2024.

Read the rest of the schedule before you commit, because the conditions are real. Angelina County operates all food and beverage concessions, alcohol included, in the Special Events Room as well as the main building, with a $600 concession buyout at the owner's discretion. You must provide your own security at $48 an hour per officer, and you need proof of at least $1,000,000 in general liability insurance naming the county as additionally insured.

Go-to order or tip: The concession rule is the catch. If you want your own caterer or your own bar, price the $600 buyout into the budget and confirm in writing that it covers your event before you sign.

Whispering Oaks Venue

Schoolcraft Road · $$

Known for A glass roof pavilion, so an outdoor ceremony survives East Texas rain

The pitch here is one specific solution to the one problem every East Texas outdoor wedding has. The pavilion has a glass roof, so you keep the open air ceremony and the tree canopy overhead and you do not need a rain plan that moves 150 people indoors at two hours' notice.

Capacity and rates are not published, so this is a call and tour venue. If you are set on an outdoor ceremony between April and June, which is the wettest stretch of the Lufkin calendar, it is the first number to dial.

Go-to order or tip: Walk it in the middle of the afternoon. A glass roof is a different room at 2pm in July than it is in an evening photo, and you want to know which one you are booking.

Known for A 2,500 square foot historic downtown room built around a handcrafted bar

A historic downtown building with high ceilings, architectural detail and a handcrafted bar as the centerpiece of a 2,500 square foot open room. It takes over 150 guests and rents for private use only, so your reception is not running alongside somebody else's party.

This is the right size for a 100 to 150 guest reception where the ceremony happens at a church and you want somewhere within walking distance of downtown for the party. Rates are not on the site, so call.

Go-to order or tip: The weekend noon to 2pm window is an open walkthrough. You can see the room without booking an appointment first, which no other venue on this list offers.

Known for An open downtown warehouse room, listed by the city tourism office

A downtown event rental warehouse carried in the Visit Lufkin venue directory, which is run by the city's convention and visitors bureau, with the address and phone above coming straight from that listing. Its own social page describes it as an event rental venue in downtown Lufkin and gives the same number.

Two cautions, both worth knowing before you call. The name is spelled Bahannon's on the city listing and Behannon's on its own page, so searching either way is fine. And wedding marketplaces group it with Abram's Event Venue and The Silo under a single downtown operator, with addresses and phone numbers that do not match across listings, so confirm which building you are actually touring.

Go-to order or tip: Ask on the first call whether the quote covers this building specifically or any of the operator's downtown rooms. The listings blur them together and the spaces are not interchangeable.

How did we pick these?

We started from the venues that publish their own website, because in a town this size a working site is the difference between a business and a listing. Five of the eight above have one: The Historic Warehouse, The Grand on First, Eden Hill, Whispering Oaks and West Shepherd Avenue. Every address, phone number and capacity figure attributed to those five came off their own pages.

The other three are public or city documented. The Pitser Garrison Convention Center's room by room banquet capacities come from Visit Lufkin, the city's convention and visitors bureau, which also books it. The Angelina County Exposition Center's rates come from the county's own rental schedule PDF, dated January 9, 2024, which is why it is the only venue here with a price we will state flatly. Bahannon's Warehouse comes from the Visit Lufkin venue directory plus its own social page.

Ranking was mostly decided by one thing: whether a venue tells you what it costs. The Historic Warehouse is first because it publishes three packages with dollar figures, rental hours, guest counts and what is excluded. In a market where every other quote arrives after a tour, that is worth more than a prettier room.

We cut more than we kept. Shelton's Place on FM 2108 appears on several marketplaces with a 7,400 square foot building on ten acres, but we could not find a website it runs itself and the WeddingWire page we tried no longer returns the venue, so we will not vouch for its current status. Buck Creek Hall at 1617 Old Ewing Rd is described in detail across two directories, 5,200 square feet covered and open air, 250 seated, with a pond and an elevated stage, but it has no site of its own and no recent reviews, so we could not confirm it is taking bookings this season. Crown Colony Country Club is a private social club. Olde Dobbin Station and several barn venues that surface in a Lufkin search are in Montgomery County, two hours away, and we left them out rather than put a Houston area venue under a Lufkin headline. No business on this list is a client of ours, and no partner in our client file matched Lufkin and wedding venues, so this is a straight editorial list.

What should you know before you go?

Three practical things decide a Lufkin wedding. The first is that prices are hidden, so you will spend a week on the phone unless you start with the two venues that post numbers. The second is weather: East Texas humidity makes a July outdoor ceremony a real risk, and the wettest weeks are spring, which is also peak season. The third is capacity, because the gap between a 150 guest room and a 500 guest room in Lufkin is a gap between a private venue and the convention center.

Venue Seated capacity Published price Outdoor option Outside vendors
The Historic Warehouse 300 $4,500 to $9,000 Wraparound porch, 3 acres Yes, no extra cost
The Grand on First 150 Quote after tour No In house, BYO alcohol on two tiers
Eden Hill Event Venue Ask the venue Quote after tour Exterior spaces Ask the venue
Pitser Garrison Convention Center 500, or 1,200 combined Quote after tour No Catering kitchen on site
Angelina County Expo Center Ask the venue $500 to $900 per day Barns and pavilion arena County runs concessions
Whispering Oaks Venue Ask the venue Quote after tour Glass roof pavilion Ask the venue
West Shepherd Avenue 150 plus Quote after tour No Ask the venue
Bahannon's Warehouse Ask the venue Quote after tour No Ask the venue

Book a Friday if you can. The Historic Warehouse charges $4,500 for a Friday DIY day and $5,500 for the identical Saturday, and that $1,000 spread is a reliable signal of how the whole market is priced. Guests travelling in will mostly stay on the Loop 287 hotel strip, which puts them ten minutes from every venue above.

What about the Angelina County Exposition Center's fine print?

Worth its own heading, because the $500 Special Events Room looks like the obvious budget answer and then the conditions arrive. Angelina County operates all food and beverage concessions, alcohol included, so you cannot simply hire a caterer and a bartender. There is a $600 concession buyout, but the schedule says it is at the owner's discretion, not automatic. You must hire your own security at $48 an hour per officer. You need a certificate showing at least $1,000,000 in general liability insurance with Angelina County named as additionally insured, and no date is held without a signed rental agreement. None of that is unreasonable for a county facility. It just means the real cost of the $500 room is closer to $1,500 once security, insurance and the buyout land.

What should you do next?

Call The Historic Warehouse first, at (936) 366-1894, even if you suspect it is not your venue. Its published packages give you a Lufkin price baseline, and you cannot negotiate anywhere else without one. If your list is over 300, skip straight to convention services at (936) 630-0527. If your list is under 40, ask The Historic Warehouse about the Thursday Enchantment package before you look at anything else.

Then widen the search by 20 miles. Our guide to the best wedding venues in Nacogdoches covers six venues that all publish their own sites, including a historic hotel that handles everything from 24 guests to 1,000, and it is a 30 minute drive. For the rest of what we have written about this city, start at the Lufkin guides hub, and for how other Texas towns compare on venues see the wedding venues section. Frequently Asked Questions

Almost no Lufkin venue publishes a rate, which is the single hardest thing about planning here. The two that do are The Historic Warehouse, at $4,500 to $9,000 depending on the package and the day, and the Angelina County Exposition Center, whose Special Events Room is $500 a day and whose main building is $900. Everybody else quotes after a tour.

Marriage licences in Lufkin are issued by the Angelina County Clerk at the Angelina County Courthouse, the 1955 building pictured at the top of this article. Texas has a 72 hour waiting period between issuing the licence and the ceremony unless you are active duty military or complete a state approved premarital education course, and the licence is good for 90 days.

The Pitser Garrison Convention Center, by a wide margin. Visit Lufkin publishes a 500 seat banquet capacity for its Angelina room alone and 1,200 for the four main rooms combined. The next largest on this list is The Historic Warehouse at 300.

The Historic Warehouse states on its own site that outside vendors are allowed at no additional cost on every package tier. The Grand on First handles catering and bar in house, though its Classic and Social tiers let you supply the alcohol. The Angelina County Exposition Center is the opposite case, because the county operates all food and beverage concessions itself unless you buy them out.

Lufkin's wedding season is concentrated in the mild months, roughly March to early June and again from late September through November, and that is also when the outdoor and open air spaces are usable. Saturdays in those windows go first, and the Friday rate at The Historic Warehouse is $1,000 less than the Saturday rate, which tells you where the demand sits.

Yes, and several of them outrank the Lufkin city options on looks. The Barn in the Pines is in Huntington, inside Angelina County, and Cassels-Boykin County Park on Lake Sam Rayburn is about 35 minutes out with a pavilion that takes large groups. Nacogdoches, 20 miles north, has a deeper bench than Lufkin does.
